Arthur Jay Robertson was born May 12, 1882, in Biadsville, Lincoln County, Arkansas. It was first recorded that he stood 5 feet 8 1/2 inches tall, had blue eyes, brown hair and dark complexion, but it was recorded on his WWI draft card that he stood 5 ft. 11 inches tall, had grey eyes and black hair. He was a farmer and rancher. Arthur enlisted in the Regular Rangers,(private, Co. L) in El Paso County, Texas, Dec. 28, 1917--March 10, 1919. He was Honorably discharged when Co. L was disbanded. He was a Government employee. He enlisted in the Regular Rangers February 18, 1921--March 5, 1921 (private, Co. A) then resigned. In 1919--1920, Arthur woked as a ditch rider for the U.S. Reclamation Service at Canutillo and Ysleta, El Paso County, Texas. He was also an El Paso city detective. In 1930, Arthur was a Bureau of Reclamation ditch rider and a Dona Ana County, New Mexico deputy sheriff, living in La Mesa, Dona Ana County and later served as Las Cruces, Dona Ana County Chief of Police. Arthur Jay Robertson died April 3, 1951 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. At the time of his death, he was a Justice of the Peace in Las Cruces. He is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Arthur had a brother and two sisters. He was married three times, first wife unknown, second wife, Bessie R. and third wife Natalia. Arthur and Natalia had a son, Arthur Jr.
