Martha "Mattie" (Dickens) Loyd, age 84, known to all her friends as Aunt Mattie passed away in a hospital in Ozark, Arkansas, on Saturday, 12 JAN 1957.
Aunt Mattie was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Blue Mountain, Arkansas. Besides rearing two sons, she reared two grandchidren and she was a wonderful woman to all who knew her.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, 13 JAN 1957, at the Primitive Baptist Church in Blue Mountain with the Rev. George Owens from Waltreak, Arkansas, officiating with burial in the Blue Mountain Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Sidney "Sid" Earl Holt, of the home, and Floyd Myers from Elk City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Ryan, from Madera, California, and Mrs. Ida Neely from Nimrod, Arkansas; two brothers, Alonzo Dickens from Blue Mountain, Arkansas, and Oscar Dickens, from Madera, California; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
