James Hollis Burnside Sr.

James Hollis Burnside Sr., born 11/13/1918 in Graceville, MT, passed away on 2/25/2001 in Puy- allup. "Hollis" worked for the City of Tacoma Public Works for over 25 years and retired in 1974. Hollis was a farmer from the day he was born in Montana, and continued that lifestyle when he moved to Washington after serving our country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was known for his hard work and love of animals throughout the farming community. Hollis was preceded in death by devoted wife Bonnie M. Burnside, parents Hugh and Nellie Burnside. Survivors include sister Lois Milner; sons James Jr. and Bruce (Kim); daughter Marcia Morin (Don); grandchildren Heather Koughn, Kenny Burnside, Kyle Burnside, Katie Burnside; great grandchildren Dustin Urednick, Mitchell Koughn, Skyler Burnside. Family and close friends will gather together at Woodlawn Abbey Mausoleum, 12421 Valley Ave E., Puyallup on Saturday, March 3 at 10 AM for a committal service. Memorial service 11 AM Saturday at Powers Funeral Home Chapel, 320 W. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup, (253) 845-0536.
