Gordon Clarence Farabee died on March 14, 1984 at Graham General Hospital, Graham, Texas.
Mr. Farabee was born August 9, 1900 to Russell Jordan Farabee and Emma Crowell. He was born at home in Bridgeport, Texas. The family moved to Newcastle, Texas in 1906.
G.C. Farabee began working in the No. 5 coal mine at Newcastle, Texas in 1916.
He and Miss Allagra Simons were married April 29, 1926 in Newcastle, Young County, Texas
After the coal mines closed in Newcastle, Mr. Farabee went to work for the railroad. He retired from the railroad after about 33 years of service. The couple moved to Graham, Texas in 1952 from Newcastle, Texas.
Mr. Farabee was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on March 17, 1984 at Morrison's Funeral home with Reverend Forrest Gibbs officiating.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Earlene Price and husband, Bob, of Graham, a son, David Gordon Farabee, and wife, Diane, of Wichita Falls, three brothers, Clifford Farabee of Seymour, Texas, R.J. Farabee of Bryson, Texas, Leonard Farabee of Deville, Louisiana, four grandchildren, Carolyn Cates Hunnewell, Michael Cates, David Farabee, Daniel Farabee and three great-grandchildren, Staci Cates, Sharon Cates, and Christy Hunnewell.
