CAMERON — Services for Niley Judson Smith, 93, of Cameron will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with the Rev. Elizabeth Hanley officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Monday, April 12, in a Cameron nursing home.
He was born July 15, 1916, in Branchville to Adoniram Judson and Irene Steger Smith. He was a 1933 graduate of C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron, and graduated in 1938 from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree. He served in the U.S. Navy. He served on the Cameron school board 1959-1964, and was president 1961-63. He was on the board of directors of Citizens National Bank in Cameron. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cameron and served on the board of stewards. He was a retired farmer, rancher and investor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Cheeves Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Niley Judson Smith Jr. of Austin and Stephen W. Smith of Dallas; and three grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church of Cameron, 208 W. Second St., 76520, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
