Birth: Jan. 19, 1923
Death: Apr. 11, 2010

Billie Mask, 87, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, in Yukon, Okla., after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Logan, pastor of Bell Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Mask was born to Willa Findley Stover and Dick Stover on Jan. 19, 1923, in Gainsville. The family moved to Amarillo when she was a child, and she was educated in the Amarillo schools. She married Phil Mask on Nov. 4, 1939, in Clovis, N.M.

During the war she worked at Pantex and Pioneer Natural Gas Co. She later worked at the First National Bank and Shamrock Oil.

They raised their family in Amarillo and in 1968 moved to Lubbock. They moved back to Amarillo in 1995 to be near family. Phil died in 1997. Billie moved to Yukon in 2005 and remained there until her death.

Billie had many talents. She loved to sing and dance and was a talented artist, leaving behind many lovely works of art for her family to enjoy. She was a kind and gentle person who always met life head-on and never complained. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a sister, Mary Lou Patterson; and a brother, Jimmy Louis Stover.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Hoover and husband Darrell of Amarillo; a son, Richard Mask and wife Linda of Yukon; a brother, John Stover and wife Barbara of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Citychurch Lunch Program, 205 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
