Actor. He came to international prominence with his role as Ben Carrington in the TV series "Dynasty" (1986 to 1987). Born Christopher de Lerisson Cazenove, his family was of Huguenot descendants; his father served as a brigadier in the Coldstream Guards. He began his acting career studying Drama at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School, before moving onto stage work. After bit parts in the pictures "Julius Caesar" (1970) and "There's a Girl in My Soup" (1970); his breakthrough role was a featured one in the British TV series "The Regiment" (1972 to 1973), followed by "The Duchess of Duke Street" (1977). Further film credits include "Zulu Dawn" (1979), "Eye of the Needle" (1981), "From a Far Country" (1981), "The Proprietor" (1996) and "Shadow Run" (1998). He starred in the short-lived Broadway production "Goodbye Fidel" (1980). He was formerly married to actress Angharad Rees. He died from complications of septicemia. (bio by: C.S.)
