Azro Chase, one of the best known residents of the county, died at his home at Chaseville, Sunday, March 6, aged 67 years. The funeral was held from the family homestead on Wednesday at 2 p. m. Mr. Chase was born at Chaseville and had always lived there. He inherited considerable wealth, but lost the greater portion thereof by unfortunate investments. He owned an attractive homestead which has always been a center of sociability and hospitality. He has been conspicuous in county politics having been chairman frequently of county conventions and always a delegate whenever he would accept. He served his town several terms in the board of supervisors and the county one term as member of assembly ... He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Annette F. Chase. The latter is now a member of the faculty of the State Normal school at Ypsilanti, Mich."
