Anne Lois Turner Shores was born in Floyd County on Sept. 12, 1915, the daughter of William Edgar Turner and Vinnie Wigley Turner.

She was a 1932 graduate of Rome High School, attended Mercer University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and took religious education courses at Southwestern Baptist Theology Seminary. Mrs. Shores has taught Missions and Bible Studies throughout the Southeast.

For 12 years, she served as summer hostess of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Shores also served on the summer staff in the business office at Ridgecrest, North Carolina Conference Center and prior to her retirement, was a house director at Berry College. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a prayer partner at the Catherine Marshall Center in Lincoln, Virginia.

On June 20, 1936, she was married to the Rev. Alexander Shores, who proceeded in her death on Aug. 28, 1968.
