Death at Toledo Hospital Early Friday Afternoon
James Courtad died Friday morning at 12:45 o'clock at Toledo State Hospital after an illness covering some months. He was critically ill three days.
James Courtad was a son of Martin and Eva Simonis Courtad, both deceased, and was born on the Courtad homestead, northesat of U.S., Jan. 20 1866. He grew to manhood on the farm and secured a common school education. Ninetten years ago he formed, with Col. J. W. Griselle, a real estate firm. Later he was associated in the same business, with Wm. C. Hare. He was married Mar 6, 1916 to Miss Mary Elizabeth Stasser who survivies. Mr. Courtad was a faithful member of St. Peter's Catholic congregation and was possessed of a wide circle of warm friends.
One sister, Mrs. Lena Strasser and a brother, Martin are deceased. There survives these brothers and sisters, Charles and Micheal, of Carey; Henry, of Cleveland; Frank, of Toledo; Anthony, of Norwalk; George, of Col.; Joseph, of Lima; Alber and Mrs. Clinton Shafer and Mrs. Harry Houser of this city.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with interment in the Church cemetery.
