Ernest Otto Banik was baptized May 2, 1886, by Pastor J. Adam Neuthard, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top, Fayette County, Texas. His baptismal sponsors were Otto Banik (uncle) and Rosa Krinke.
Ernest Banik was confirmed by Pastor C. Wolff on April 12, 1903, at St. Peter's Evangelical & Reformed Church near West, McLennan County, Texas.
Ernest Banik married Fena Schronk on November 30, 1914, at Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church in Waco, Texas.

BANIK, ERNEST O.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald for Ernest O. Banik.
Mr. Banik, 83, a resident of West Rest Haven, died Saturday in a Hillsboro hospital.
The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until the time for the service. Rev. J. W. Weltge of Robinson will officiate.
The family will be at the home of Ernest H. Banik , 418 East Elm Mott Drive in Elm Mott.
Mr. Banik was born in Burton and lived in the Gerald community for seventy years. He had lived at West Rest Haven for the past 17 months.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Schuetz of Route 2, West, Mrs. Allen Richter of Elm Mott, Mrs. Erna Archerd of Deadwood, Ore., and Mrs. Olga Richter of Leroy; three sons, Robert Banik of Bellmead, Ernest H. Banik of Elm Mott, and Albert Banik of West.
Also, four brothers, Albert Banik of Crosby, Herman Banik of Waco, Fritz Banik of Tampa, Fla., and William Banik of Austin; four sisters, Mrs. Ottilie Rolke of Dayton, Mrs. Hulda Blum of West, Mrs. Helen Kablitz of Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Freida Kern of Austin; and 13 grandchildren.
