Leland Chesley Kinney, son of Chesley Kinney and Gertrude Bowman, was born in Scotland County, Missouri, the youngest of three children. His siblings were Virgil and Daisy. He operated a gasoline station in Milton, Iowa. He raised Velma's two children, Billy and Lucile, after their father died. He was a good tempered and valued member of his community. He is buried in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, beside his wife.

MILTON—C. Kinney, 68, died at the Davis County Hospital on Friday evening, May 18, 1984.

He was born on April 15, 1916, in Scotland County, Mo., the son of Chesley and Gertrude Bowman Kinney.

He was a retired filling station employee.

He is survived by his wife, one step daughter and one step son, six step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and one sister.

Services were held on Monday, May 21, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Milton Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Ed Poole and Rev. John Hulsizer.

A memorial was established to the Heritage House.

Burial was at Sunnyside Cemetery of Milton.

Priester Funeral Chapel of Milton was in charge of arrangements.
