It is supposed that from all the information given, that Mary Freeman (Martin Christian) was the child of Harriet Freeman, who married William T. Christian on July 3, 1856, and was most likely born out of wedlock. It is apparent that Moses & Pernetta Martin raised Mary as their own child since she is shown in their household up until she married William Martin. Warren County Will Book 6, page 393, April 8, 1879, in the disbursement of the property of the estate of Moses Martin, states that Pernetta Martin ".....wife of Moses Martin and having had no child.".
It should be noted that the grave of Mary Christian is not marked at Hebron. The burial site is most likely in one of the unmarked plots next to that of her second husband, Bradley Christian, who is also buried at Hebron Cemetery. Note: Hebron Cemetery is located one mile west of the Irving College community.
