Hollie was preceded in death by her husband, James Madison, Bean Sr., who died the previous year and her daughter Priscilla, killed in a fire in 1848, that destroyed their home in Jackson County, TN. She was also preceded in death by two infant children. Hollie married James in 1828 and they had 14-children born in Jackson County, TN. After the fire they moved their family to Jackson County, AL on the Big Coon Creek, where they finished raising the surviving children. Those children were Nancy, Sarah Margaret, Mary Elizabeth, James Madison Jr., Eli Brantley, Crawford Carlton, Anderson Kelly, Allen Young, John Bender, Henry Harrison, Eliza Jane, all born in Jackson County, TN and Margaret Angeline, who was born in Jackson County, AL. All seven of Hollie's sons fought for the confederacy, six of them came home after the war. Anderson Kelly was feared dead, but when he came walking up the road to the house, it was to much for his mother to bare. She died shortly thereafter. She is buried at the "Old Haddon" Cemetery on the Big Coon Creek where she lived with her family. Other family members are buried there as well.
