Dorothea Stephens services Wednesday
Funeral services for Dorothea Irene Stephens, 77 of 134 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton, will be Wednesday, February 12, at 2 p.m. at the White Funeral home in Chesterton. She died Sunday, Feb 9, in Porter memorial Hospital.
The Rev. James Andrews will officiate the service. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born July 7, 1908 in Chesterton, she was the daughter of John and Friederike (Warnhoff) Brown. On February 25, 1930 in Hobart, she married Marion Stephens, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, LaRue (husband William) Gilbert, of Jackson Township; a son, Russ (wife Barbara) of Chesterton; five grandchildren, Cynthia Gilbert and Lance Stephens both of Chesterton, Audrey Gilbert and Debra (husband Mark) Farrington, both of Jackson Township, and Jeffery Stephens, of Oakland, CA; two great-grandchildren, Marshall and Rebecca Farrington, of Jackson Township; and one sister, Loretta Cole of Chesterton.
