Lewis G. "Slim" Dover, 67, of Aurora, passed away October 25, 2000, at Vencor Hospital, Sycamore, IL. He was born June 6, 1933, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, to the late Huler and Daisy Dover.
Lewis Dover and Mary Lou Brown were united in marriage, October 15, 1955, in Tunica, MS. They moved to Aurora where he began working for Lyon Metal. He retired after 39 years of service.
Mr. Dover is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his daughter, Kathern (Eric) Thomas of Aurora; two grandchildren, Jennifer and William Thomas of Aurora; one sister, Louise Brown of Ravenden, AR; two brothers, Troy (Johneta) Dover of Ravenden, AR, Jack (Lydia) of Fordland, MO.; and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; and one sister-in-law, Carol Dover of Willford, AR.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Lloyd Dover.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2000, at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL. and also from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at the Higginbotham Funeral Home, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at Higginbotham Funeral Home, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Interment will take place at Bradford Cemetery, Sharp Co., Arkansas.
