Lula Mae Lindsey Godwin was born November 15, 1946 to J.C. Lindsey, Sr. and Sadie M. Lindsey in Pantherburn, Mississippi.
She confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at the Stranger Home Baptist Church, Pantherburn, Mississippi at the age of twelve. Sister Lula Mae answered God's call on October 18, 2000 to come home and receive her reward for a job well done.
She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband, Calvin Godwin; a son, Ronald E. Alexander; two daughters, Linda F. Alexander and Beverly (David) Johnson; four brothers, Matthew (Vivian) Carter, J.C. Lindsey, Jr., Leon Lindsey and Edward Lindsey; three sisters, Ethel M. Queen, Sarah (Reggie) Lindsey and Lilly Chambers; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Lula was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Alexander, her father J.C. Lindsey, St., a brother, Jerome Lindsey, a grandmother, Daisy M. Carter and a very special friend, Robert E. Alexander.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at the BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, Illinois. Rev. Clarence Clark, officiating, Pastor, Christian Valley M.B. Church, North Chicago, IL. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park Cemetery, Zion, IL. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
