Eleanor Louise Boileau, age 84, a former resident of the rural Redfield area, and more recently of Fort Scott, died Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born in Marmaton, Kansas, May 25, 1921, the daughter of Mitchell Hershel George and Delta Frances Holt George. Eleanor was a 1939 graduate of the Uniontown High School. She married Chester W. Boileau on June 15, 1941, Uniontown, Kansas, at the home of her parents. She was a member of the Redfield Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and also attended the Uniontown Methodist Church. She served at 4-H and FFA leaders and enjoyed square dancing with the Iza Stompers Square Dance Club. She and Chester received the distinguished Farmerís Award in 1975, and were honored in 2004 with the dedication of the new Fort Scott Community College dormitory named in their honor. He hobbies include riding and showing horses, sewing and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Chester, of the home; one daughter, Jeanna Coleen Church and husband Mike, Carlyle, Kansas; one sister, Charlene Smith and husband Terry, Pleasanton, Kansas. Also surviving are two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Kevin M. Boileau, and two brothers, Thomas George and William George.

Rev. Joel Dunn, pastor of the Redfield United Methodist Church will conduct funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Woods Cemetery at Redfield. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Redfield United Methodist Church and maybe sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, Fort Scott.
