Karren was born and grew up in Idaho. She was the personnel manager at Sears in Idaho Falls, ID, worked in the mail and supply room at Argonne National Lab and most recently she worked at Cross Creek Schools as a teacher's aide and tutor.
Karren loved giving service to others, the outdoors and especially "the cabin" in Idaho.
She is survived by her son, Allen Newcomb of Washington, UT; brother, Peyton (Denice) Dennis of Bountiful, UT; sister, Lori (Edgel) Oldroyd of Springville, UT; and nieces and nephews, Sharon (Allan) Hogenson, Michelle (Martin) Christensen, Neil (Camille) Dennis, Kim Dennis and Brett Dennis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kairouz, Dr. Manalo, John, Mickey, Sheila and the entire staff at Snow Canyon Clinic for the love and care of Karren during her illness; also, we want to thank Hospice for their tender care and support. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Southern Utah Home Care and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007, 1 p.m., Washington LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 82 North Main St., Washington, UT. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, 12-12:45 p.m., prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, Ririe, ID. Condolences may be sent through the Metcalf website at www.metcalfmortuary.com
