J.W.M. Miller, age 74, died at his house on South Main street last Friday afternoon after an illness of only a few days. Deceased had been an invalid after he suffered a stroke of paralysis in 1896. Deceased was a member of the firm of Miller Bros., who for many years were Wayne county's foremost farmers, stock traders and merchants. They owned an immense boundary of land on Beaver Creek and were very wealthy. Armstead Miller, a partner of the firm, died in 1911, after which the property was sold and Marion Miller to town, his condition being such he couldn't look after the business.

Deceased is survived by one brother, Fox Miller, who lives at Frederick, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday by Rev. J.L. Piercy, after which the remains were taken to Elk Spring Cemetery for burial.
