He was born on July 13, 1938, in Logan, Utah, a son of Fred Smith Leishman and Genevieve Jensen Leishman.
On January 24, 1964, he married LaRee Wheeler in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1965.
He had been a self-employed floor covering contractor, had been employed at Intermountain Photo and Perrin Floor Covering.
He was a member of the Ogden 40th LDS Ward where he had served as a home teacher and a scout leader. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and had a deep love for his family and friends.
He had lived in Ogden most of his life and had attended Ogden City Schools. He also had lived in Logan and Plain City.
He served for a period of two years in the U.S. Army and spent part of that time in Germany.
Surviving are his wife of Ogden; two sons and two daughters, Brett D. Leishman, California; Kevin S. Leishman, Ogden; Mrs. Boyd (Natalie) Peterson, South Weber; Teresa L. Leishman, Ogden; two grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one. sister, Larry J. Leishman, Slaterville; Mrs. James (Marsha Ann) Miller, Ken-newick, Washington.
He was preceded in death recently by his parents.
Services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., with Bishop R. Merlin Deschamps of the 40th LDS Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
