John Hayes Tierney, 95, of Roselle died peacefully on March 29, 2010, at his home at Sunrise of Bloomingdale.
He was born to Elizabeth Veronica Hayes and Franklin Benjamin Tierney on July 6, 1914 in Wanatah, Indiana. He married Rose Kathryn Giangrasse in May 1942. She died in 1991.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, John, Geraldine, Maureen, Madalene and Thomas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Rosamond Gorman.
He served in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of major while stationed in the South Pacific.
