Charles served as a Staff Sergeant with the 90th Calvary Reconnaissance Squadron, 10th Armored Division, Third Army, U.S. Army during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on May 13, 1939, prior to the war, in Florida. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of professional and scientific apparatus and also as Separated, with dependents.
He was "Killed In Action" during the War in Germany.
He had served the Army for eight years and six months at the time of his death. He was decorated with the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
