My Uncle.

Charles Dudley Thompson was born on March 7,1923 in Chicago.

As a teenager, he joined the National Guard and then went into the Army where he served in WWII in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was very proud to serve his country for six years.

After Chuck was discharged, he went to work at Western Electric where he spent the next 40 years in the Power House.

During that time, Chuck married his first wife, Frieda. Frieda gave birth to Allen, Carol, Louise and Chuck. Sadly Frieda passed away of heart disease at age 42.

Chuck and Nancy Davies met at First Baptist Church where they all members and when they married, Nancy adopted the four children. When Jennifer was born in 1967, the family became complete.

Although the later years have been marked by illness for Chuck, he enjoyed life to the fullest. When he retired, he became the bus driver for First Baptist Church Christian School; he was Head Usher at church. He and Nancy were Golden Heirs; and he was supply man for Awana. Chuck was also one of the founding members of the Belmont Fire Department.

Above all, he loved the Lord and he had a servants heart.

Chuck died on January 22, 2002 at the age of 78 and now can rest secure and be well again worshipping at the feet of Jesus.

...and thus endeth the record.
