Obituary:
Rockwell,Iva I.-Age 75, of Myrtle Creek,passed away on Sunday,November 5,2000 at a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1925 in Gooding, Idaho, daughter of Gilbert and Mae (Lisle) Heath. She was raised and educated near Naches, Washington. Iva was united in marriage to Theodore E. Rockwell on August 15, 1945 in Coerd'Alene, Idaho. They lived in Washington and Idaho, but made their home in Oregon. She enjoyed collecting rocks and had a special talent for gardening. She used her creativity to make a house into a home and saw beauty in almost anything. Iva enjoyed wildlife, especially birds,but mostly she loved her family and spent a lifetime earning their love and respect. Her husband was a W.W.II Marine veteran and she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Myrtle Creek. She is survived by a son,Ted Rockwell and his wife Virginia of Sutherlin, four daughters, Claudia Jones of Sutherlin, Kay Anderson and her husband Speede of Glide, Diana Kreig and her husband Jake of Portland and Ivy Turner of Roseburg. A godchild, Lana Buel of Eugene. Three sisters, Dorothy Fuss of Naches,Washington, Ethel Freeman of Roseburg,and June Alexander of Sherwood,Oregon. Ten grandchildren, Connie,Debbie,Julie,Larry Jr.,Travis,Carrie,Micky,Brandi,Tami and B.J.also twenty great grandchildren,numerous nieces and nephews,aunts and uncles. Her husband,Theodore,who passed away in 1994 preceded her in death. A son, Theodore Rockwell Jr., five sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at the Cedar Hill Cemetery on wednesday, November 8, at 11:00 a.. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Miller of the Glide Baptist Church.
