Son of Ahasuerus and Anna Van Eps Wendel. His parents were first cousins to each other and also to his wife Jemima Van Dyck who he married Aug 31, 1754. He died after 1777.
This from David Walz: On March 1, 1776, he signed an agreement with Philip Schuyler for service at Lake George and Ticonderoga. His name appears on the rolls of the 2d Albany County Militia as serving under Captain John Van Patten. (Hanson, Willis T., Jr. A History of Schenectady During the Revolution. 1916. page 271.)
And he married secondly, Elisabeth, dau. of Nicolass Groot, and wid of Arent Van Antwerpen, Jan. 15, 1762. In 1786 he lived at the west end of State street beyond Water street alley, Ch. bp: Annatje, Aug. 1, 1762; Annatje, Sept. 30, 1764, m. Arent S. Vrooman; Maria, Oct. 4, 1767; Nicolaas and Jacomyntje, April 22, 1770. (Pearson, Jonathan. First Settlers of the Patent and City of Schenectady from 1662 to 1800. Baltimore, 1982. p. 293.)
