He was born June 30, 1901, in Augusta County, a son of the late Adelthus C. and Bernice Thacker Arnold. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ada Weaver Arnold on March 11, 1941.
Mr. Arnold was a farmer and member of Springdale Mennonite Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Cleon (Bernice) Grove, and Mrs. Gordon (Evelyn) Bryant Jr., both of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Dempsey (Mary) McNeill of Buckeye, W. Va.; three sons, Floyd Arnold and Wallace, both of Waynesboro, and Earl Arnold of Lyndhurst; one sister, Mrs. George (Ada) Davis of Waynesboro; two brothers, Fay Arnold of Waynesboro, and Charlie Arnold of Shenandoah; 12 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Saturday when it will be placed in Springdale Mennonite Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, conducted by the Rev. Guy Stump and Paul Wenger. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Harry Brown, Charlie Mehler, Gordon Bryant, John Martin, Raymond Houff and Herbert Welcher.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Brown, Carl Grove, Melvin Eavers, Paul Balsley, Aaron Burkholder, Justis Driver, and nephews of Mr. Arnold.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday.
