Helen G. Cook, daughter of Art McBride & Loda (Evans) McBride, was born December 13, 1928 in Massac County Illinois. She departed this life Monday morning, July 25, 2005, at 10:38 AM at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY.
Helen was united in marriage to Leslie Cook on March 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1970.
Survivors include: a Son – Steve B. Cook of the New Columbia community (Massac Co.) IL; a Brother – Billy McBride of Metropolis, IL; a Sister – Alta Woodard of Metropolis, IL; Several Nieces & Nephews; Dear Friends – Bonnie Cook & Ora Nell Ross.
In addition to her Parents & Husband, Helen was preceded in death by: 4 Brothers – Chester McBride, Charles Dee McBride, Fred McBride & Otis McBride; 2 Sisters – Almeda Brewer & Cora Lindsey.
Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening & morel mushroom hunting. Helen also enjoyed attending country dances at the Kickin' Country Dance Barn & Kornbread Junction.
Helen attended the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church & Mermet Pentecostal Church.
Helen leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, July 28, 22005, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery, north of Vienna, IL. Friends may call after 6 PM Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
