BENJAMIN C. AMBROSE, 74, died Saturday morning at his home at 31 S. Church St., Waynesboro, following a long illness. He had been critically ill since suffering a stroke early last winter.
Born in Marion, Pa., he was the son of the late William B. and Elizabeth A. (Hartman) Ambrose and had lived in Waynesboro since 1906. For 32 years he was employed in the cost-accounting department of the Frick Co. and had been retired for three years.
He was a member of Jehovah's Witness and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Waynesboro.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Carrie (Stephey) Ambrose; daughters, Mrs. Chester Alter, Chambersburg, and Mrs. Alice Munson, at home; brothers, Walter and Daniel Ambrose, both of Waynesboro; and sisters, Mrs. Mary Grace Smith, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Edith Miller, Hagerstown Rte. 5.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home, Brother Richard G. Myers officiating. Interment in Burns Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 p.m. tonight.
