Isaac Francis "Frank" Herrin, was the son of Mager "Major" Herrin (1804-1864) and Nancy _______ (1806- ).
He first married Elizabeth Wheeless in or near Herrin, Williamson couny, Illinois and settled in Boerne, Kendall County, Texas. Family legend says Annie belle Cupps came live in the household to nurse Elizabeth, who was badly sick with consumption, and to care for Isaac's children.
He married Annie Belle Cupps shortly after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth, to TB. Elizabeth Wheeless Herrin was said buried at Old Boerne Graveyard, but her gravesite was lost to memory.
Isaac Herrin fought in the Texas Cavalry, for the Confederacy according to some relatives. But, a record of his military service could not be found. Isaac was commonly known as "Frank" to his family and as "Ike" by his friends.
He generally signed his name as I.F. Herrin which often appears as "J.F. Herrin" on documents.
