Frederick Anton Kiel was a son of Henry Frederick and Maria nee Muesing Kiel. The other son of Henry and Maria was Christian Kiel who married Elizabeth Christine Louise Weichman. Christian and Elizabeth are buried in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery (Maumee Avnue) - Fort Wayne, IN.

Frederick's parents, Frederick & Marie nee Muesing Kiel started a dairy farm north of Kendallville, IN that was across from the cemetery where they are buried. Their son, Frederick and Louise nee Rahdert Kiel, operated the farm until 1909 when they moved to Fort Wayne. Then in 1915 they moved to a farm at Wallen (Allen County), IN. They declared bankrupcy in 1924. Frederick then worked at Schlosser Creamery on West Main Street in Fort Wayne.

Fred Kiel, 71, died Sunday, March 25 at his home 2204 Weisser Park after an illness of 5 weeks. Born in Adams Township, retired farmer, lived in Fort Wayne 25 years. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors: sons Carl & Harold; 3 daughters, Mrs. Charles L. Bacon, Mrs. Ernest Sunderland, Mrs. Ernest Bacon; 9 grandchildren. The Rev. Herbert E. Levihn officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Kendallville, IN.
