Clyde was the only child born to Edward and Laura Whitridge Tuttle. His father died when he was 4 years old. He lived with his grandmother Olive Whitridge until he was 8 and then he lived with his grandmother Mary Malinda Bender Tuttle until he married.
He married Helen McCoy on March 25, 1915. He and Helen were married for over 50 years.
He then married Mary TenEyck in 1971, but she died shortly after they married.
He married Norine Sullivan in 1973. She survived him.
Clyde and Helen had 8 children: Doris, Billie, Lela, Pauline, Laura, Jean, Joan and John Lee. John Lee died in-utero.
He worked for Eli Lilly and was well respected by Mr. Lilly and all those who were fortunate to have worked for him.
