Gertrude was the wife of Richard "Dick" Deveroux Whitehead. Her parents were John "Ted" Robert and Bonnie Grace Young Wortley Brown. She and her husband "Dick" never had children of their own, but Gertrude enjoyed baby sitting with many children in South Pasadena area. Gertrude is the sister of my grandmother Pattie Wortley Brown and my great aunt. We called her "Mimi".

Home Wedding.

At the home of Mrs. Bonnie Grace. Wortley of
No. 3809 San Julian street, the wedding of her
daughter, Miss Gertrude, and R. D. Whitehead was
conducted by Dr. J. C. Dickson. The bride wore a
gown fashioned of white .satin and lace and she
carried a bouquet of roses and maidenhair.
Mrs. Frederick Davis and Raymond Wortley assisted
as matron and best man, respectively. Baby Ingles was
flower girl and carried a basket of rose petals. At the
conclusion of a honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead
will be at home to friends at No. 3055 West Twelfth street.
