Boyd Earl Kreger, age 85, formerly of the town of Harrison, died Thursday, July 22, 1993 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Antigo.
He was born May 11, 1908 in Antigo, the son of the late Charles and Mabel (Turney) Kreger.
In 1938 Boyd was united in marriage to Lillian (Langner) Meyer in Aniwa. She preceded him in death on October 15, 1953. In October, 1958 he married Virginia (Thompson) Zaitz in Antigo. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, survivors include one son, Glenn (Constance) Kreger, Hatley; two daughters, Beverly Wire, Milwaukee and Mary (Gary) Piller, Antigo; one step-son, Earl (Elsie) Meyer, Milwaukee; one step-daughter, Shirley (Joseph) Koeppel, Antigo; four brothers, Charles (Fern) Kreger, Antigo, Elmer Kreger, Aniwa, Adin (Helen) Kreger, Milwaukee and Donald (Beverly) Kreger, Wausau; six sisters, Eloise Martens & Joy Meyer, both of Birnamwood, Celia Friedle, Hustisford, Virginia Ewert, Antigo, Jeanette (Melvin) Fuchs, Mayville and Nona (Russell) Spanbauer, Aniwa; 12 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Boyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Irwin and Roy Kreger, one grandchild and one step-daughter.
Funeral services were held July 24, 1993 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. The Rev. Charles Hoffman officiated. Entombment was in Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Antigo.
