W.L. was born March 28th, 1936 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Ben Franklin Jones and Bessie Bell Knight Jones Jones. He attended the Oak Dale School and married Sarah Jo Cottrell on April 17th, 1954. They purchased 2 acreas from Katie & Earl Cottrell and this is where they made their home raising four children.
W.L. worked for Martin Feed of Wynnewood for 30 years, raching for A.J. Beddo for 10+ yeaars. farming for Bud Dension was his favorite. He worked in the oil field, tried butching. He hauled a lot of hay and cut a lot of wood in his life time. His idea of taking a day of was to haul hay, cut 10 ricks of wood, build a barn or put in a quarter mile of fence. While babysitting. He had three things that you should never be late for work, school or church. His inspirational place was in the woods, he loved the get to gathers with his family. Flea markets and talking. In his younger years he liked to work on cars and race. He didn't care for horses much but always made such the children had them.
He was preceded in by his Ben Jones, mother Bessie Jones of Wynnewood, Brother J.B. Jones,of Wynnewood, Sister's Nadine Jones Elk City , Modine Jones and Luella Jones both of Wynnewood and son-in-law Jerry Lawson of Dougherty.
He survived by his wife Sarah Jo Jones of the home,Four children Joyce Earline Lawson of Doughtery, Bobby Leon Jones and his wife Barbara, Velvet Dyann Pyka and Christal Luann and her husband K.W. Murphy all of Wynnewood. Brother Billy Ray Jones and his wife Dorothy Jones, Nona Fay Nappa of Fox, George W. Jones and his wife Verna Jones of McCloud and Johnny Jones of Wynnewood.
