Son Nelson Abner Prescott said the area his family lived in was called Holly Springs because of the spring of water that was flowing behind the original Holly Springs Church site. This area is in the woods, behind where the current Holly Springs Baptist Church now stands.

Mrs.Courtney Beard Prescott. age 78 was laid to rest in the Morgantown Cemetery Thursday,June 9th.
Mrs.Prescott died at the home of her daughter,Mrs.Manson Graham of Foxworth at 10;30 a.m. Wednesday,June 8th. Funeral services were conducted in Morgantown by Rev. V. C. Walker.
Survivors of the deceased are three sons,John, Nelson and L.Z.Prescott, one daughter, Mrs,Manson Graham, one brother, Nelson Beard,and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
