He was born to Anna Morrison Ponder and J.A. "Junior" Ponder on Oct. 26, 1954.
He was united in marriage to Susan Williams on Feb. 27, 1976.
He was an electrician by trade and a faithful member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and "Tawpaw" who loved hunting and horseback riding. He was a man of integrity and strong faith. His happiest moments were spent sharing time with his family and friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. "Junior" Ponder and Anna Morrison Ponder; a brother, David Ponder; and sister, Mary Ann Ponder.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Ponder of Imboden; son, David Ponder and wife Valerie of Monticello; a sister, Janet Little and husband Mitch of Hoxie; a brother, Gary Ponder and wife Toni of Flippin; and a very special granddaughter, Debra Lynne of Monticello. He is also survived by other family members, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services were held in Sutton Free Will Baptist Church, Pocahontas. Interment was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.
