John Franklin Waite died on Nov. 26, 1963 in the hospital at the age of 76. He was born May 23, 1887 in western PA, the youngest child of Wm. E. and Lucinda (Kritzer) Weight. In 1889 he and his family began their western trek by ox cart, arriving in Woodbine, IA in 1891, where the family took up farming. John married Anna L. Tornow on Dec 16, 1916, in Woodbine, IA. They had five children.
Mr. Waite was preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant children, and a son Paul F. Waite, who died in 1954. He is survived by his wife Anna, a son John "Darrell" and his wife Doris of Missouri Valley, a daughter Joy Black of Council Bluffs, a stepson Lloyd "Bud" Tornow of Glidden, and several grandchildren.
Mr. Waite was laid to rest in the Woodbine cemetery near his son Paul.
