MRS. MARGARET H. UNDERWOOD
Margaret Hoover was born Nov. 28, 1832 near Brandt, Bethel Township, and died at
Tippecanoe City on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 3, at. 2:30 o'clock.
In 1855 she married J. W. Underwood and to this union were born eight children, six sons and two daughters. Mr. Underwood, together with three sons and one daughter, preceded the mother in death.
Three sons, J. W. Underwood of Gighamsburg, Charles Underwood of Tippecanoe City and Adam Underwood of Dayton, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Young of Tippecanoe City, one brother Shannon Hoover of Troy and one sister, Mrs. Delilah Treadway of Dayton, 18 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren survive her.
Mrs. Underwood was a member of the United Brethren church at Ginghamsburg from which place the funeral was held Sunday afternoon. (word missing) Mr. Zimmerman had charge of the funeral and the grandsons acted as pallbearers. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
