Sanford, Colo. resident Flora M. Ruybal, 84, passed away March 12, 2010 at her home under Hospice care surrounded by her loving family. Flora was born Aug. 10, 1925 in Monte Vista the daughter of Lino Naranjo and Mary Kandle Naranjo.
Flora was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Alamosa and she enjoyed quilting, baking, reading the newspaper, taking care of her house and the time spent around all her loving family.
Survivors include daughters Dorothy Silva of Sanford, Josie (Amos) Sisneros of La Jara, Elsie (Rod) Hammond of Eureka Springs, Ark. and Susan (Ross) Sisneros of La Jara; sons Salomon (Orlinda) Ruybal Jr. of Alamosa, Roy Roybal of Los Sauces and Paul (Pat) Ruybal of Los Sauces; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one sister Emma Gonzalez of Del Norte and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Salomon L. Ruybal, son-in-law Alex Silva, two sisters Ruth Espinoza and Carmelita DeHerrera, five brothers John, Luis, Alberto, Joe and Salvador Naranjo.
A prayer service will be held on Tue., March 16, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the River of Life Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at the Assembly of God Cemetery in Los Sauces. Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
