Born December 05, 1920 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, she was daughter of the late Charles P. and Barbara (Doeg) Brown.
Jeannette was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the Army Nurse Corps. During her enlistment she was assigned to the 165th General Hospital serving in North Africa, Italy, Germany, and France before her unit departed for its Pacific tour of duty. Before her honorable discharge in 1945, Jeannette received the Mediterranean, African, Middle Eastern and European Theater Campaign Ribbons where she also received three bronze stars.
She was a former member of the American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Illinois, and the West Shore Country Club for over forty years.
Jeannette enjoyed golfing, spending time in Wyoming with her son, and traveling to Florida during the winter months.
She was a dear and caring person who loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years: H. Paul Brown.
Surviving is her daughter: Barbara J. Leonard and her husband, Barry of Carlisle; her son: Jeffrey C. Brown and his wife, Sandra of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; her three grandchildren: Steven C. Singiser, Jr., Jason P. Singiser, and Keaton J. Brown; her three great-grandchildren: Cheyene, Dakota and Mackenzi Singiser; and her sister: Salvation Army Major B. Marie Brown (Retired) of Rockford, Illinois.
On behalf of the entire family, we would like to especially thank a dear friend and wonderful caregiver: Ann Beecher.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
