Richard "Grandpa Rake" Lechelt ( Leckelt ) was the son of Gottiebe Leckelt ,aka Lechelt. and Mathilda Sterling of Hamburg, Germany. Richard was one of five children. Richard ,Bertha, William ,Hilda, & Gottiebe Leckel Jr.
Gottiebe Leckelt born March 1851 and Mathilda Sterling born Dec. 1852 in germany,she listed having eight children ,five whom are living in 1900.
Richard married August 9, 1901 in Acadia parish , Agnes Laughlin,daughter of Joseph "Jesse" Laughlin and Marie Aurore Fontenot of St. Landry Parish.Richard & Agnes had seven children .
La Death record : Grandpa Rake died July 4, 1956 : age 84. He was baptized Nov.17,1876, at 2yrs.

Grandpa Rake spoke german, he love to talk and laugh when people came to visit.I have wonderful memories of him. He gave me my nickname " Bill" .He call mae Wild Bill,for my temper.he said. God grant you peace Grandpa . Bill
