|Death: ||Sep. 9, 1956|
Woodville (Allegheny County)
Donald Columbus Parke was the first child and only son of Horace Dunham Parke and Fanny Louise McDonald. After spending much of his childhood in Onondaga County, he worked as a cabinet maker and carpenter. He married Kate Elizabeth Rahrle in 1888. The couple and their small family moved around New York State, Ontario, and Pennsylvania as Donald found employment. The family eventually settled in New Brighton, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
Donald's wife Kate died suddenly in 1925. When daughter Grace married later that year, Donald and adopted son Arthur joined the newlyweds' household in Pittsburgh. Sometime in the 1930s, Donald moved to a boarding house on the North Side of Pittsburgh, where he lived for quite a few years. His daughter Grace and granddaughter Virginia visited him there. The death certificate for Donald Columbus Parke lists his final address as 723 Pressley Street. He died at the Woodville state hospital.
The death certificate indicates burial at Grove Cemetery in New Brighton. Donald is presumably buried with his wife Kate, but the plot location is unknown.
