Lillian Rae (Taylor) DuVilla, 78, of Millville died Friday evening, March 5, 2010, at daughter Debbie DuVilla's residence in Vineland.
Born and raised in Millville, she graduated Millville High School, Class of 1949. While in high school, she was a cheerleader and excelled in athletics, where she was the catcher on the softball team and played basketball. Mrs. DuVilla married and raised her family, and later worked as the bookkeeper for DuVilla Cesspool Service. She later worked for Kontes Glass Co. of Vineland as a lathe operator for many years until she retired. Mrs. DuVilla participated in a bowling league at Delsea Lanes. She also enjoyed working in her garden, and taking trips to Lancaster, Pa.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie DuVilla and Bob Gelsi of Vineland; one son, Randy Russell DuVilla and his wife Toni (Caporale) of Millville; one sister, Mary Flickinger and her husband Ed of Mays Landing; one brother, Joseph Taylor of Millville; three grandchildren, Brittani DuVilla and Kellye DuVilla of Millville, and Dawn Gelsi Collins of Franklinville; one great-grandchild, Carley Potts of Millville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Russell DuVilla, in December 2009; and one brother, Charles Jesse Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville.
