Mr. Bowie Franklin Thompson, 72, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, Oct. 4, at his home. He was the husband of Nettie Lee Thompson.
Born Jan. 21, 1914, in Clarksburg, he was a son of the late Lola and William Thompson.
Mr. Franklin was a self-employed house painter. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Carolyn A. Magers of Monrovia, Franklin E. Thompson of Damascus, Richard L. Thompson of Monrovia and Rosalyn Thompson Marshall of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one sister, Phyllis Watkins of Cedar Grove; three brothers, John Thompson of Hyattsville, Lindsey Thompson of Washington, B.C., Earl Thompson of Clarksburg; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may visit 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Francis H. Barber Funeral Home, Laytonsville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home. Internment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
