Catherine was placed for adoption after her biological father died just before her birth. She never knew her real name until she found her birth mother years later. By then, Catherine was already married and the mother of her own children. It was later discovered that her name was Beisman. The adoption agency or unknown other persons had told her it was Bismark, Bisman, and various other spellings. She was the loving wife of Frederick Gehlbach for over 52 years. Mother of Florence and her twin Muriel (who died at 2yrs of age), Dorothy, Virginia, and Frederick.
