AGED WIDOW PASSES AWAY
Mrs. John W. Barmes, Many Years a Resident of Beal, Knox County, Dies Suddenly at Her Home at St. Francisville, Illinois
Mrs. Mary A. Barmes, one of the oldest residents of this city, passed away at her home here Monday night aged over seventy four years says the St. Francisville Times. She was married to John W. Barmes, and to this union were born seven children only three of whom are still living. One son and one daughter died in infancy, one son died a few years ago and one daughter died nineteen months ago. The children surviving her are: James E. Barmes, of Louisville, Ark., T. R. Barmes of Beal, Ind., and John H. Barmes, of Beal, Ind.
The family for many years made their home near Beal, Ind., and about twenty-two years ago moved to St. Francisville where Mr. Barmes conducted a general store on the corner now occupied by Milhouse's store. After he was here only about two years Mr. Barmes died, and since that time his widow has made her home here and in the country near here. Besides the three sons who survive her there are four sisters and one brother, and several grand children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at Bethel church, at Beal, Ind., and interment made in the cemetery near by.
