He was named in his father's will dated Feb. 25, 1761.
Appointed Ensign of the 4th Co., 4th Reg. May, 1776 and
Lieut. in May, 1779. As a commissioned officer, he was required to leave his wife who was a delicate woman unprotected.
Daniel was a builder and built several homes in Fairfield as well as the Fourth Congregational Church of Fairfield in 1785. It was torn down in 1849.
