Homer R. Owens, 70, of Prescott, born Nov. 28, 1935, in Phoenix, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Miller Valley Baptist Church, 815 Whipple St., Prescott. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Walnut Grove, Ariz.

Homer (Sonny) Owens Jr., age 70, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on March 11 at the Prescott VA. He was born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Phoenix, to Homer and Amy Jane (Sadler) Owens the second of 5 children.
His first wife, Loretta, and brother, John, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Vera Owens of Prescott; his children and their spouses, Cindy and Ed Tischler, Eric & Laura Owens, Lief & Patience Owens, Garth & Sandra Owens, and Wolf & Sherri Owens; grandchildren, Tara O'Neill, Jacob Tischler, Nick, Jered, Jeremy, Jessica, Rebecca, Alicia, Grace, Wolf Jr. and Joy; and great-granddaughters, Allison O'Neill and Taylor Owens; stepchildren, Don and Kathy Mountain, Laura and Ken Levin, Chris Mountain; and step-grand-children, Alicia Mountain, Benjamin Barnes, Rachel Barnes and Avery Levin, all of the tri-city area.
He is also survived by his sisters Anne and (Gene) Aycock and Jane DeMente, of Phoenix; and brother, Frank and (Lynda) Owens of Windsor, Calif.
Sonny served in the Armed Forces between 1954-57 and was stationed in Germany.
He was a carpenter by trade but a rock hound at heart. He enjoyed flint knapping (arrowhead making). He would spend all year collecting rocks from around the country for the Shariot Hall Folk Art Fair demonstrations he gave. He looked forward to the Quartzsite rock shows where he made friends withthe same interests. He was adventurous and loved the great outdoors.
He dearly loved both of the wives God had given him, as well as the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but above all he loved the Lord who had saved him by grace, and who's presence he now enjoys.
