He was wounded in the arm in the Battle of Spotsylvania on May 12, 1864, and eventually discharged by Government Order No. 77, dated April 29, 1865. He died in 1896 and is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery listed at either Shiawassee or Gratiot County, Michigan. (George Dickinson had served in Co. I.)
